    I’m a Psychiatrist with over a decade of clinical and teaching experience.

    I’ve helped hundreds of people improve their mental health, from overcoming simple anxiety and stress to managing severe and chronic depression and other conditions.

    I teach and train other mental health professionals to provide compassionate, evidence-based care.

    My holistic approach to care integrates your story’s biological, psychological, and sociocultural aspects to fully understand your experience and determine practical tools so you can move forward. I ask the hard questions we often avoid but are needed to truly uncover your strengths, values, and goals.

    I’m an expert at combining the art and science of medicine with practical personal growth tools. It’s not just about medications (sometimes they’re unnecessary!). I’ve helped many people develop their self-care skills and feel empowered to change their lives.

    Dr. Gretchen Gavero is a board-certified Psychiatrist who helps motivated, multi-passionate adults (yes- busy professionals, leaders, college/grad students, and parents like me!) to improve their sense of mental well-being so that they can feel less stressed, overwhelmed, or stuck and bring inspiration, motivation, energy, and momentum back in their lives.

    She has worked with hundreds of people for over 18 years since starting her medical journey and for over a decade as a Psychiatrist and Psychotherapist. She is also an Associate Professor of Psychiatry who trains other health professionals about compassionate and evidence-based mental health care. She trains other physicians on how to be a Psychiatrist. Dr. Gavero also cares for patients in her private practice clinic, Mindhealthspace, in Honolulu, Hawai’i.

  • I created The Mental Path Essentials because I’ve seen many people feel overwhelmed and unsure about how to address their psychological or emotional problems, making them feel helpless or stuck. Life also can get too busy that many people defer paying attention to their own needs, which only stalls their pursuit of their goals or being fully present to give to others.

    Many people skip the basics of self-care or have a one-sided approach, limiting their progress.

    With over a decade of clinical practice helping hundreds of individuals, I know that a holistic, body-mind approach is necessary to give you the best progress and outcome. I use the same approach in my own life.

    It’s my mission to inspire, spread hope, and help others learn basic yet powerful information and tools to feel mentally and emotionally strong and resilient.
