Stretching Out Of The Box

It has been over a month since I launched The Mental Path. What a journey so far! It feels great to remember how the brain loves a challenge: learning new things, reminding us of its boundaries and capacity, and how much stress it can handle. It reminded me how to take good care of myself when faced with new challenges and learning opportunities.

Here are 10 Things I learned about myself since launching thementalpath.com and during my online course creation.

1. I still have strong perfectionistic tendencies. My antidote? Flexibility and the freedom to revise. Being my own boss makes that possible.

2. Basic time systems are life savers. Working on my priority projects, even just 30 minutes each day, makes a huge difference. It must be on the calendar; otherwise, it won't get done.

3. People who care about me will willingly support me, and I often just need to ask.

4. There's freedom in scheduling when to check social media, and freedom feels fantastic!

5. Taking selfies helps me build confidence. Seeing myself genuinely smile in pictures makes me smile; I'm glad my generally sunny disposition shows up naturally.

6. It feels great to stretch out of my comfort zone and realize there is infinite space around me to explore and express creativity

7. I enjoy social media more when I focus on writing for myself; follows and likes are simply bonuses. The right people will find me if my work has a place in making their lives better.

8. Creating new projects to serve a larger purpose outside of myself makes me fall in love with my life story and journey even more. The fact that I can create the time, energy, excitement, and resources to pour into The Mental Path makes me truly grateful for my life experiences and those around me who support me and cheer on my bold ideas.

9. When I allow myself to innovate, my values and dreams become clearer, and I'm more driven to go after big goals. Why not?

10. When my husband and I brainstorm together, I feel even more powerful and creative. That's how my private practice clinic and The Mental Path ideas came to life! I need to make more time for these brainstorming and dreaming together conversations.

Have you been feeling stuck or bored in your life? Is it time to add spice to your routine or your project list? Try stretching out of your box and see what's waiting outside your comfort zone!
